This article relates to the link at the end of this blog. Before reading it I had not paid much attention to the stem cells research, this I beleive makes for good reading since for me it now clarifies how much the administration influences the decisions made by scientists. In this case it is being reversed to allow scientists to work freely and make the necessary decisions as per their research and findings and even though they will be monitored they won’t be controlled by politicians as in the past. The article allows you to see the future benefits for people suffering with diseases that are painful for the patients and their loved ones. I believe it is a good thing even though I have not read much of this but anything to do with curing ailments and prevent human suffering I am all for it. Even though there is much debate and opposition about this, if you are not taking life to experiment then why not. It is definitely a controversial subject and one that needs alot more indept studies, but if not given the resources and time then we may never know fully how effective it could have been. People will be divided by the morality of such a research but I am all for it as long as it sustains life and not destroys it. As I said previously I have not put much time and research into this but I am willing to commit to such an experiment for future generations and present, if it can be effectively implemented soon. Just think about it people suffering from diseases such diabetes, cells that could help those with Parkinson's disease or maybe even Alzheimer's, or new nerve connections to restore movement after spinal injury. Would this not be the ultimate break through, I strongly believe it should be given a try and I will be reading much more to back up my vision on this. Here is the link to the article that shows the present administration is in favor of supporting stem cell research.
